Location: The area in the hills near Montecatini Terme is charming and full of olive groves and small hill-top villages. Montecatini Alto is very pretty and has a funicular railway which starts from Montecatini Terme, down in the plain below. The views from Montecatini Alto are stunning and as you walk around the "Alto", you get views of 4 provinces! Montecatini Terme is famous for its thermal waters, bars and restaurants and is only a 40 minute drive from both Pisa International airport and Florence airport, so perfect even for a weekend away. An area which is less populated with tourists than that of the Chianti, but logistically perfect for reaching all parts of Tuscany.
