Description

This is a character property located in the popular village of Old Basing located just east of Basingstoke in Hampshire. This property oozes character with its working fireplaces, knooks and crannies and beams.

The first floor contains four bedrooms, three of which are double and the fourth is a generous sized single. The master bedroom has an en-suite containing w.c. basin and shower whilst a plush family bathroom complete with free standing roll top bath serves the rest of the house. On the landing can also be found a small alcove area where one can sit and relax in the peace and quiet.

With the double storey extension the ground floor now provides a porch(boot room), spacious hallway and a guest cloakroom. All of which are in keeping with the age of the property. The lounge is situated at the front of the property and is lit by two sets of windows. This is a comfortable room which comes complete with a working fireplace.

This property then gives an even greater wow factor when you enter the kitchen/diner. This is a large space that contains room for a sofa, dining table and chairs and the kitchen area which also provides a utility area with side access to the property through a stable door. Ample light is provided by patio doors and windows on two sides of the property.

Outdoors to the front you will find a gravel driveway with currently has parking for a couple of vehicles although more could be provided by redesigning the fence which leads into the rear garden.

The rear garden is ample in size and laid mainly to lawn with bushes to the edges. Mature fruit trees can be found here which continue to provide a variety of fruits. The original outdoor lavatory is also still in place although it is now used for garden storage and there are further sheds to be found. The patio area is accessed via the side gate or through the double doors leading out from the kitchen/diner.

Old Basing is a historical village which boasts Basing House, a fine example of Tudor architecture and gardens. Old Basing Infant School and St. Marys' C of E Junior school are both within walking distance. The popular Street Bakeshop is just down the road from this home and The Crown Inn is a local well respected public house.

Further afield Basingstoke itself is the largest town in Hampshire and provides all the amenities you would expect. The train staion will take to the South-West of the country and into Waterloo going the other way. The M3 is easy to reach and will take you down to Southampton or into West London.
