Description

A charming three-bedroom bungalow situated in a prime setting, close to the Cookham commons

Description

Situated in a semi-rural position just south of Maidenhead, The Toll House is a delightful detached cottage with ample character. The older property has charming features including wood floors, a brick fireplace and wooden window frames, and offers excellent potential for improvement. The property is situated adjacent to Widbrook Common, with private access via a pedestrian gate from the garden; there is also easy access to Battlemead Common – both popular dog walking areas. The bungalow is deceptively spacious and offers over 1000 sq ft of space, with a well-planned and versatile layout that could see one of the bedrooms also used as a reception room. The accommodation comprises a living room with wood-burning stove, a cloakroom with WC, a kitchen, two double bedrooms, a smaller single bedroom and a bathroom. The interiors are well presented and filled with natural light.

The cottage enjoys a semi-rural setting reached via a driveway which loops around from the side to a good-size driveway at the front, where there is a detached car port. An arched gateway opens to a pretty, enclosed garden which is laid to lawn and features a paved terrace wrapping around the front and sides. There are delightful views over the adjoining Common and access via a pedestrian gate.

Location

Cookham is a self-sufficient large village on the river Thames, about three miles north of Maidenhead. The village has pubs, a garage, gallery, takeaways, a primary school and a number of commons, popular with dog walking. The village is conveniently located for the M40 (Junction 4) and the M4 (Junction 8/9) which provides access to Heathrow Airport and the M25.

Rail connections to London (Paddington) are available from Cookham Rise one mile away (via the branch line to Maidenhead), providing services to the City and beyond via the new Elizabeth Line.

Nearby Marlow offers a superb range of retailers, with an eclectic mix of local independent and national names. There are numerous bars, cafes and restaurants dotted around the town offering destinations for any occasion. Maidenhead offers an alternative for shopping and services.
