Description

A fantastic two bedroom single storey barn conversion tucked away near the heart of this most picturesque village with a delightful garden and a large detached garage.

THE PROPERTY
Situated on a spacious corner plot and tucked away near the heart of the most picturesque village of Litton Cheney, The Byre House is part of an imaginative 1970's barn conversion of some of Baglake Farm's outbuildings. As the name 'Byre' suggests it was a single storey milking parlour, and has a very attractive façade constructed of stone under a pretty tiled roof.
On first entering this wonderful property there is a real sense of charm, space and light. The property has been extensively upgraded and modernised and is now immaculately presented throughout. Of particular note is the perfectly proportioned sitting room with a large stone fireplace and woodburning stove. There are also large windows overlooking the delightful gardens. This room leads perfectly into a lovely dining /breakfast room. The recently fitted bespoke kitchen incorporates a number of very attractive wall and base units, including an induction hob, Neff appliances, quartz and oak worktops. There is also direct access to the garden and paved terrace, ideal for al fresco dining. Alongside the kitchen is a separate utility room/WC.
There are two very good-sized bedrooms, both with en suite shower room and fitted wardrobes.

OUTSIDE
The delightful gardens are a particular feature of the property and have been lovingly landscaped and nurtured over the years. The front elevation enjoys a southerly aspect towards open countryside with a large number of mature plants and shrubs, a lawned area and pretty paved terrace. To the rear of the house is another area of garden, again with mature planting, a lawned area and garden shed. Alongside the house is a double garage which has huge potential to be converted into a number of other uses, (subject to planning) and a gravelled driveway with off road parking for 2 cars.

All in all, this is a truly wonderful property tucked away in a magical location.

LOCATION
Considered to be one of the gems of the stunning Bride Valley, the pretty village of Litton Cheney lies in a secluded yet accessible location. This is some of the finest countryside in Dorset, designated as an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty. Famous for its patchwork of pastures and rolling chalk valleys, woods and downland, this stunning area is host to a number of pretty villages mainly composed of traditional cottages of stone and thatch.

Litton Cheney, has a nursery and junior school, a thriving community hall, a local pub and a youth hostel, and is within easy reach of both the County Town of Dorchester and Bridport. Both provide an excellent range of shops, schools, restaurants and supermarkets, with the County Hospital in Dorchester and smaller community hospital in Bridport. Dorchester has two main line railway stations to London Waterloo as well as the Conran-designed Brewery Square with its cinema, bars and restaurants. Both towns have thriving markets.
