Description

B-Listed mansion house in stunning secluded setting with 28 acres.

Description

Lonan House is a B Listed country house built in 1906, designed by the renowned Scottish architect Sir Robert Lorimer. In its lifetime, the house has been a private home, a hotel and latterly self-catering apartments. The current owners have undertaken a comprehensive restoration project to renovate the accommodation whilst maintaining the character of the building and the surrounding 28 acres of gardens and woodland.

In its current configuration, Lonan House is divided into six luxury self-catering apartments plus a self-contained one bedroom annexe and spacious owner’s accommodation, all over three levels.

On the ground floor there is a one bedroom apartment and a two bedroom apartment, both with sitting room, bedroom, shower room and kitchen. The owners’ accommodation comprises a welcoming entrance hallway leading to a dining kitchen, with large kitchen island and a range of storage and in-built high spec appliances. There is a conservatory off the kitchen, with access to the patio area and grounds. A large sitting room has windows on two sides and there is a separate study. Upstairs the owners’ accommodation continues with four large double bedrooms located around an airy, spacious hallway with archways off. A shower room and main bathroom complete this area.

The first floor accommodation continues with a further three apartments - two one bedroom apartments with shower room, kitchen and sitting room; and a two bedroom apartment with open plan kitchen/lounge and separate shower room. From here there is access to the second floor which hosts another two bedroom apartment with sitting room, dining room, shower room and kitchen.

The accommodation is currently offered in the following configuration:

• Campbell – 1 bedroom apartment
• Lorimer - 1 bedroom apartment
• MacDonald – 2 bedroom apartment
• MacDougall – 2 bedroom apartment
• MacLeary – 1 bedroom apartment
• MacFarlane – 2 bedroom apartment

• Self-contained one bedroom annexe
• Owner’s accommodationn

Garden and Grounds
The property sits within 28 acres of stunning grounds, mainly laid to lawn in extensive gardens and woodland offering picturesque walks amongst flora and fauna. There is a large wildlife pond and many well-maintained areas for sitting, picnicking and relaxing.

There is a site of approximate 5 acres within the grounds offering a potential development opportunity for further accommodation, glamping pods or business expansion. Additionally there is a planning proposal for a single dwelling development. Further information is available on request.

There is a sizeable (1301 sq.f.t) detached garage currently used as a spacious workshop with electricity and water. Attached to the main property is also a large garage store with separate entrance.
