In the heart of the Maremma in Pitigliano, a former convent of San Francesco, part of a 16th century complex designed at the time by a Renaissance architect for the noble Orsini family, just a 10-minute walk from the historic center of Pitigliano, an ancient and beautiful village in Tuscany, now a UNESCO World Heritage Site. The original drawings are now deposited in the Uffizi Gallery in Florence. The property has undergone an important conservative restoration with the addition of modern comforts, but remaining a wonderful oasis of tranquility immersed in nature and history. The arrival at the convent takes place through the fenced courtyard with the ancient Church of San Francesco on the side, a heritage of the state property. The main entrance is in the cloister area, under a wonderful ancient porch. The ground floor has several small rooms off a corridor with vaulted ceilings that leads to the main kitchen and magnificent dining room, built in the convent's winemaking area. These rooms also include a study, library, massage room and pantry. From the dining room, a characteristic staircase leads us to the basement, where we immerse ourselves in an ancient Etruscan cellar on two floors, dug into the tuff deep in the ground below, used to age the wine and preserve the cheese and oil. Most of the rooms in this beautiful property have vaulted ceilings. Through a beautiful staircase you reach the first floor with the traditional long central corridor with the monks' cells on both sides. These have been carefully renovated to offer four en suite double bedrooms and one with a large terrace. On the other wing there is a large master with a large living room and two en suite bedrooms. All the views of the rooms on the first floor offer suggestive sensations with an enchanting panoramic view. All surrounded by large colorful gardens and lavender scents with views of the surrounding hills and mountains. In complete privacy, the large 18-meter saltwater pool ideal for moments of relaxation and an area dedicated to yoga.
