For those that don't want to walk up the hill, there is the Queen's head with its indie music scene and The Bear Indian restaurant. The bus routes to Bath are numerous through the village and so it is easy to commute in for work or to enjoy an evening out, yet be back just before midnight. Access to the M4 and motorway network is easy both to J17 or J18 and mainline rail stations are situated in Chippenham and Bath. Nearby Corsham offers a picturesque high street and further shops if you don't want to venture into Bath, and larger supermarkets can be found at Chippenham and Melksham.
