Description

A stunning semi-detached period cottage in a tranquil, rural setting with glorious South facing gardens and outstanding views.

We are delighted to be offering for sale this simply stunning period home, in stunning mature grounds of approx. 0.22 acres.

Originally built in the late 17th Century, Inglenook Cottage was renovated by the Romsey Building Preservation Trust in 1979 and has since been extended and extremely well maintained by the subsequent owners. The cottage now offers a very successful marriage of period features - such as exposed timbers and a log burning Inglenook fireplace - together with more modern comforts such as double glazing, underfloor heating to the bathrooms, an EV charging point and a loft conversion- currently used as a study/studio. Amongst other rooms there is also a useful utility/boot room, a beautiful timber framed conservatory, a second study (ideal for those working from home) and four comfortable bedrooms. The accommodation is both spacious and versatile.

The property offers a country lifestyle within easy reach of the City. There is off road parking for several vehicles (as well as a garage with potential to extend/convert). The grounds are approx. 0.22 acres and the rear garden is well in excess of 100ft and Southerly facing. There are most attractive flower beds and borders, a greenhouse, productive vegetable patch (this has been gardened sustainably, never using herbicides nor pesticides), a Bramley apple tree and a raised terrace at the rear... ideal for entertaining and taking in the fantastic views over the water meadows and far reaching views across the Test Valley.

Conveniently placed midway between Romsey and Southampton, Nursling provides a range of local facilities with the larger centres of Romsey and Southampton being about 3 miles equidistant. The M27 can be accessed at junction 3 with the major centres of Salisbury, Southampton, Winchester and Portsmouth within easy reach.
