The welcoming entrance vestibule leads into the inner hallway with its original features, additional built-in storage and herringbone pattern bamboo floor. The flooring also runs throughout the reception room, a beautifully presented space with a large bay window plus additional tall, south-facing window overlooking the garden. An attractive fireplace adds character, while built-in bookshelves and storage offers practicality.
The large well-appointed kitchen diner has an impressive run of modern dark timber wall and base cabinets, complemented by dark granite-effect work surfaces. A high-level integrated double oven, separate hob with extractor and integrated dishwasher make this an ideal cook’s kitchen and the bay window is the perfect spot for a family dining table.
Beyond the kitchen, the 40-45 ft south-facing garden has a paved terrace designed for relaxing and entertaining, with a lawned area and a large flower bed bordering one side.
Upstairs the split-level landing services the three double bedrooms and family bathroom - recently refurbished to a high standard including high quality wall and floor tiles. This stylish space features a fully glazed walk-in shower, a bathtub, a low-flush WC, a wall-mounted basin with a mirror and additional built-in storage.
Bedrooms two and three are good sized double rooms which both look out to the rear garden, with their southerly aspect guaranteeing lots of natural light to complement the modern, light coloured decoration and carpeting.
The main bedroom is generous, spanning the full width of the house and benefits from twin windows to reinforce the airy and comfortable feeling of this peaceful retreat.
The ever popular Bushwood area of Leytonstone has a peaceful community feel but is blessed with easy access to all the exceptional amenities offered by Leytonstone High Road and surrounding areas, including bars, restaurants, shops and supermarkets. The area is also well served by public transport, with Leytonstone High Road overground and Leytonstone Central Line underground stations both being around a five minute walk. There are good schools close by, including the Davies Lane Primary school which is just a three minute walk.
Outdoor activities are also well catered for with Wanstead Flats just a few minutes’ walk and Hackney Marshes, Queen Elizabeth Olympic Park and Walthamstow Wetlands nature reserve within easy reach.
Sellers comments…
We moved to Michael Road three years ago, and we've had a great time in such a friendly area, only choosing to move to be closer to family.

When we moved in, we redecorated the whole house, other than the kitchen. This included new carpets and bamboo flooring, plastering and painting the walls, installing new radiators, and a complete replacement of the bathroom. We particularly love the style of the the living room and the walk-in shower in the bathroom.

If we were staying here longer, we'd consider redecorating the kitchen to a more modern style, maybe adding large bifold doors to the garden. However, as the current kitchen is very functional, with loads of worktop and storage space, it's suited us well for the time we've been here. We have also considered upgrading the windows in the second and third bedrooms, but so far they haven't caused us any issues.

In terms of the area, as we have a dog, we've particularly enjoyed being so close to the Wanstead Flats - just a couple of minutes walk away - along with regular walks and runs to Wanstead Park and the Leyton Flats. We also like to take the tube to walk around Epping Forest and visit the many great pubs there. You can even walk the 24km from here to Epping on almost 100% green paths - which we did last summer!

Leytonstone station is really close, and it’s just 15min into central London. Stratford is a couple of stops away - great for shopping and also has great connections with the Jubilee and Elizabeth lines.

We frequently go to the local restaurants, cafes and pubs. Particular favourites are Bocca Bocca (excellent pizza), Homies on Donkeys and the Leytonstone Tavern. There are loads of cafes we like, including Wild Goose Bakery, Horizon and Back to Ours. There is also the Leytonstone Beer Mile, with small brewers under the arches, which are perfect for a relaxed and low-key drink, particularly outside in the summer. We still have friends in Leytonstone so are looking forward to being back to visit some of these again in the future!
