The village of Villedubert, population 350, lies on the Canal du Midi, about 10 minutes from Carcassonne. There is a restaurant in the village. A walk along the canal banks leads to the neighbouring village of Trebes with a number of restaurants and bars beside the water.
There is a retail park with a Carrefour hypermarket at Pont Rouge (5 minutes), and Carcassonne international airport is 20 minutes away by car.
