***GREATER ALACANT***

Just a short drive away (3,5 Kms.) you will find the typical fishing port of Santa Pola, the old plaza's and many places to enjoy Tapa's, Paella and all fresh seafood. Access through the National Route N-332 or nearby A-7 will get you quickly in and out of the area without any trouble at all.

Gran Alacant is essentially a big urbanisation and a suburb of Santa Pola. It has several commercial areas, a market every Thursday morning and a Tourist Train, which is a great way to discover Gran Alacant as it runs through the area connecting everything. There is a stunning cliff top walk to the lighthouse and another one at the base of the cliffs through the pines. The fine sandy beach stretches north to Arenales del Sol and south to the start of the scenic drive to Santa Pola, along which there are a number of 'chill out' beach bars in the summer.

Gran Alacant is a fairly small resort with a population of about 10,000 although this grows in the main holiday season. It's easy to get around and has a charming, cosmopolitan feel.

The waves and winds around the Gran Alacant and Santa Pola areas have attracted sports enthusiasts with windsurfing, kayaking, sailing, stand-up paddle, kite surfing and paragliding being particularly popular.
