Location
Ovacik is a very popular area located between Oludeniz and the beautiful town of Fethiye. Set on the hillside of Babada Mountain, it is very popular with British expats and Turkish people alike and features many restaurants, cafes, markets, and supermarkets. Ovacik is much quieter than the neighboring Hisaronu holiday tourist resort where the main street comes alive at night.

There is excellent public transport with the local Dolmus (public transport) running every 5 minutes. Ovacik has a few restaurants and shops that stay open all year round, but the majority close from late October to early April. This does not pose a problem though due to Ovacik's location, so it's easy to get out and about.

Ovacik is also a popular European destination for paragliding, with many people traveling across the globe to take part and have a go at jumping off Babada mountain.

A main attraction on the Oludeniz side is the stunning Butterfly Valley, with many species of butterflies calling this valley home. It is located between two isolated canyons that border the seashore. Both valleys have beautiful waterfalls, and this spectacular location can be reached via the beach or by boat.

Another attraction here is Kabak, another breathtaking place of interest and great for exploring. Here you can find many camping areas and some small restaurants. The local dolmus runs from Oludeniz or Fethiye if you fancy a visit.

Also close to Ovacik is the historical Kayakoy, also known as Ghost Town. This area is steeped in history and well worth a visit, featuring abandoned homes and a church which still cover the mountainside. You can also find plenty of restaurants here with great views of the Ghost Town. Ovacik truly is the perfect location for permanent living or a great investment for rental returns. The beaches of Oludeniz and the stunning turquoise waters of the famous Blue Lagoon are just 10 minutes away.

Fethiye, which is a working town and open 12 months of the year, is 8km away.

Dalaman International Airport is 22.5 miles from Ovacik.
