Description

Riverside Gardens is a truly delightful retirement complex close to the heart of the town yet enjoying a tranquil and calm setting. As the name suggests the River Windrush runs alongside the apartments with meadow walks just a few strides away. Natural light fills this superb first floor apartment which has its own entrance and delightful views along the tree lined river.

Presented in excellent order throughout the well-appointed kitchen offers a super range of wall and base units by Howdens with space for a dishwasher and washing machine. The dual aspect sitting room offers both space to relax and dine whilst taking in the treetop views. The spacious hallway not only provides access to all rooms but is roomy enough for additional furniture. Two double bedrooms and modern refitted bathroom complete the picture.

Additional benefits include a new hot water system, Fischer programmable electric heating, and a manager on site at specific times during the week, who can help with any small or major issues. Whilst the development offers very independent living there is a thriving community with residents organising get-togethers, a communal laundry and lounge.

Well-tended gardens are home to a variety of plants, shrubs, lawn and mature trees, a lovely spot to enjoy some alfresco dining. In addition there is plenty of parking for residents and visitors alike.

Our client?s words below are testament to this wonderful place in which to enjoy a long retirement.

"The setting for a retirement property could not be more peaceful and lovely, situated in the centre of the small market town of Witney on the edge of the Cotswolds. Yet being convenient to all amenities does not sacrifice tranquility and calm. The views from the double aspect living room across the tree lined river and natural aspect of the meadow beyond are a constant delight, both summer and winter. The wildlife I have observed regularly during my years here are many, including Grey Heron, Kingfisher, Great Spotted Woodpecker, Red Kites, and many more. Summer evenings spent quietly with a glass of wine beneath the tree canopy are everything retirement conjures up. The morning sun greets the bright airy, modern fitted (approx 6 years ago) well serviced kitchen, with its many feature cupboards, including a pull out larder, and pull out corner units. Large pan drawers are a great asset. As a retired professional chef I had the kitchen fitted with attention to detail. Importantly, there are many friendly sociable people living here, which is a great benefit to anyone living alone. I will miss such a lovely living space."
