An old fishing village, Valras-Plage is located in the Occitanie region of France, in the Hérault département. A seaside resort on the shores of the Mediterranean, it is located around ten kilometres from Béziers and thirty kilometres from Narbonne. A favourite beach of the people of Béziers, the town is a popular tourist destination during the summer months.Over the years, Valras-Plage has managed to retain its traditional village feel while modernising its infrastructure. It became an independent commune in the early 1930s, after being attached to Sérignan, and from then on has continued to develop, notably through its marina.Situated at the mouth of the River Orb, Valras-Plage does not boast much in the way of architectural heritage, but is not lacking in charm, particularly thanks to its unspoilt natural surroundings. There are plenty of water sports and leisure activities, as well as hiking and other outdoor sports.
