The village of Allexton is situated approximately 4 miles west of the market town of Uppingham, home of the renowned public school. The town includes a wide range of amenities including a hotel, a number of well-regarded restaurants and shopping.

Market Harborough lies 13 miles to the south and has a mainline station providing a fast service to London St Pancras from 59 minutes, whilst the city of Leicester to the west is easily accessed by the A47.

The village of Hambleton sits on the Hambleton peninsula and includes the renowned Hambleton Hall Hotel.
