The surrounding villages are beautiful with picturesque cobbled alleys while within 5 minutes' drive is the beach of Afrata, which has facilities and pebbles. The wider area is protected. It is of exceptional natural beauty and in a small distance there are paths, trails and many interesting places, where you can enjoy the wild Cretan landscape. In Kolymbari the nearest small town, which is 5 to 10 minutes' drive, you will find schools, supermarkets, taverns that are open all year round as well as several shops. The city center of Chania is about 35 minutes' drive and Kissamos about 20 minutes.
