Sloley is a village 13.6 miles southwest of Cromer and 5.7 miles south of the small market town of North Walsham which offers a range of shops, eateries and healthcare providers as well as educational facilities. There are train stations at both North Walsham and Worstead nearby.

The Cathedral City of Norwich is found 14.9 miles to the south and has a vibrant business community and as the regional centre has an extensive range of cultural and leisure facilities, including the Norwich City football club, The Theatre Royal, the riverside leisure development complete with cinema and numerous restaurants and pubs.

The city is well known for its excellent shopping with a combination of independent retailers along with several premium department stores. The University of East Anglia is situated to the south-west of the city, there is a teaching hospital and several business parks. Norwich has an excellent range of schools in both the state and private sector. The expanding Norwich International Airport is just to the north of the city whilst the coast and the Norfolk Broads are both within easy driving distance. The city has a mainline railway station with a service to London and Cambridge.
