Description

If strolls along sandy coves, walks through nature and supplemental income potential are amongst your new home requisites, then Manorbier Cottages tick all the boxes.

Currently in use as three separate well-established and esteemed trading holiday cottages, these beautiful properties present the perfect opportunity to provide your family with an exemplary six-bedroom family home by the sea, plus additional two-bedroom cottage for guests, extended family, or business possibilities.

The largest of the cottages, Ty Mor, was once the village of Manorbier’s bustling tea room and Post Office, and together with its adjoining cottage Delfryn - accessed through an interconnecting door - was formed from a 17th century farmhouse. The third cottage, Hafod, was the farmhouse’s accompanying coach house. Each of the properties imbue a sense of congruence between the original and the contemporary,

Ty Mor offers four bedrooms, and Delfryn two. Despite their current operation as two separate holiday lets, the property’s interconnecting door could simply be opened or removed to create one larger, six-bedroom family accommodation.

Further to the properties, some ancillary 17th century outbuildings are available with this purchase, concealed behind verdant, fortified walled gardens with a pebbled courtyard for the secure parking of multiple vehicles.

With such expansive accommodation and incredible views on offer alongside its close proximity to Manorbier beach and the Pembrokeshire Coastal Path, this is an opportunity not to be missed.

Ty Mor and Delfryn

Both Ty Mor and Delfryn would both be perfectly suited to modern day families by combining the two properties, to create an executive six-bedroom, three-bathroom home. Ty Mor’s living space includes a quintessential large bay sash window and original Victorian fireplace. It leads into the kitchen/breakfast room, which encompasses a Smeg range cooker with electric double oven and gas hob, plus a nod to its country charm with a stylish Belfast sink.

Also on the ground floor you’ll find a boot room/wc, a shower room, plus a separate utility room. The upper level contains the property’s four bedrooms and family bathroom, which has been restored with Victorian-style fixtures and fittings and a panelled bath.

Delfryn also offers a fantastic two-bedroom accommodation, incorporating a combination of both period features (including original fireplace, wooden floors and sash windows) and restorations to complement a more contemporary style. On the ground floor lies a large living room with a Victorian feature fireplace, leading into the country-style kitchen and dining area. Stairs from the kitchen lead up to the property’s two bedrooms and family bathroom. Outdoors, access to a private upper terrace grants you unrivalled views across the sea, Manorbier Castle and the nearby Norman Church.

Hafod, the former coach house, would lend itself exceptionally well as a guest house, accommodation for extended family, or kept within its current format as a holiday cottage if supplemental income is something you’re looking for with your new home purchase. On the ground floor you’ll find the property’s kitchen, with the living space, bathroom and two bedrooms situated on the first floor.

Not only are these fantastic homes a five minute stroll to the beach and surrounded by panoramic country views, but each property benefits from its own enclosed, private outdoor areas - so you can enjoy the wonderful Welsh weather in peace all year round.

Don’t miss out on this rare opportunity to establish an unparalleled lifestyle with additional income potential within one of the most beautiful pockets of Wales. (if clients are looking at buying Manorbier as an existing holiday business, it is worth noting that this property does not pay council tax, and therefore avoids the recent hikes for second home owners. It is subject to business rates instead, because it comfortably sells more days across the three properties than the minimum threshold required. It also has small business rate relief. This means the rates are lower than the council tax.)

About Manorbier

Literary scholars and enthusiasts may be intrigued to learn that Manorbier was once the summer residence of acclaimed 20th century author Virginia Woolf, who wrote letters from her “Sea View” residence in the early 1900s. The village was also believed to be a favourite place and great inspiration to George Bernard Shaw, winner of the Nobel Prize for Literature in 1925.

The village became a designated conservation area by the Pembrokeshire Coast National Park in 1997, and the properties sit amongst the imposing backdrop of Manorbier Castle, with battlements, rooms and towers open for visitors to explore.

A splendid beach with stunning sandy coves is just a stone’s throw from the properties, and offers the perfect day out for surfers, as well as youngsters who enjoy rockpooling and spending time in nature.

The village is served by Manorbier VC School, a short walk from the cottages, in addition to a convenience store, Post Office, popular pub and quaint tearooms.
