This is a very nice Cretan old house on a quiet lane in the traditional village of Kritsa, Agios Nikolaos, Lasithi, Crete.

The property has been beautifully renovated in 2014, combining the traditional style with modern details.
It has wooden floors and ceilings, traditional frames and natural stone elements.

The house is about 65 sq.m. and stands on three levels.
The upper floor consists of a rustic high-ceiling kitchen and a living room with balcony offering beautiful views of the mountains, the valley of Kritsa and the sea of Agios Nikolaos in the distance.
A wooden staircase leads to the lower floor where there are a double bedroom and a bathroom with shower. Here is also the rear door of the house with a small patio connecting to another village lane.
Further down (through a hatch door) is the basement room, this is currently used as a storage room but could also become a second bedroom or office.

The house has air conditioning upstairs and a solar panel for hot water.
There is easy parking near the property.

Only few steps  from the property there are dozens of pretty village shops, many nice cafes and a few taverns offering delicious local dishes most of which stay open all through the year.
Also in the village and within close proximity to the house are a pharmacy, post office, doctor’s office and a few small super markets.

Kritsa is the largest village in the area of Agios Nikolaos, Crete.
It is only 7 kilometers from the town and to several sandy beaches.
A reliable and frequent bus service connects Kritsa to Agios Nikolaos, Heraklion (island capital and main port and airport) and to all other majour towns and villages on the island.

Agios Nikolaos is the capital of the county Lasithi and is located at the Mirabello Bay, north-east Crete, only 40 mins away from the international airport of Heraklion.
Although Agios Nikolaos has a population of less than 20,000 it has several banks, supermarkets, shops of every kind, doctors, a modern hospital of high standard, public swimming pool and tennis courts, yacht marina, harbour, cinema, theatre, gyms, a 9-hole golf course, schools ranging from nurseries to 6-level high school and generally all the amenities you would expect to find in a modern European town.
