The award-winning coastline of the Witterings in general provides many opportunities for swimming, windsurfing and kite surfing.

Whilst sailing is the predominant pastime in the area, there is a wide choice of other recreational activities. Apart from its internationally known racecourse, Goodwood also provides a private country club and airfield and plays host to the annual Festival of Speed and September Revival meetings at its historic motor circuit. There are exceptional walking, horse riding and mountain biking opportunities to be enjoyed in the South Downs National Park and there are several good choices of vehicle access to London.
