St Vincent Crescent, Flat 1/1, Finnieston, Glasgow, G3 8NG

Description

A substantial & highly attractive three bedroom, first floor apartment which benefits from a peaceful, South-facing position and open views over the adjacent bowling green - tucked away within Finnieston's most desirable address.

St Vincent Crescent was designed and built by architect Alexander Kirkland between 1848-1850. This beautiful, serpentine Crescent was built on part of the old Stobcross Estate and was originally intended to continue further west and yet remains one of the longest crescents of its style, in Britain. Kirkland, a contemporary of Alexander ‘Greek’ Thomson, lived for a period on the Crescent at No 39, a main door flat, which is marked with a plaque. To the south of the Crescent, Kirkland laid out pleasure gardens which included bowling greens, tennis courts and curling ponds. These pleasure gardens still exist in the form of the current bowling greens. In the 70’s the Crescent was given a category A listing and the whole area, including the bowling greens, Minerva Street, Corunna Street and parts of Argyle Street were designated as the St Vincent Crescent Conservation Area.

The home for sale is an attractive first floor apartment and is held within a well-maintained building which faces South in this spectacular, peaceful location. There is a secure entrance door with buzzer entry system and the communal halls and stairways are presented in good order throughout, thanks to regular cleaning and a recent refurbishment. At the rear of the building there is a neat, shared garden which is laid to lawn.

The internal accommodation is extremely spacious throughout and given the first floor position, the property will appeal to everyone from professional couples to downsizers and families. Wonderful high ceilings combine with large Georgian windows and beautiful traditional features to create an extremely airy & elegant living space which simply has to be seen in person, to be fully appreciated. The attached photographs, floorplan and HD video will provide you with some idea of the overall size, style and specification of the property. In brief the accommodation extends to; broad reception hall, stunning living room with twin South-facing windows and fireplace with gas-fired burner, dining kitchen with appliances, substantial principal bedroom which extends to 4.5 metres by 5.3 metres, further double bedroom and single-sized room which could make an excellent guest room or home office and wonderful main bathroom with white four-piece suite including free-standing roll top bath.
