It has commanding views over the Aventino River and is one of the prettiest towns in the area for strolling through the delightful old streets. The castle is at the highest part of the town and provides wonderful views of the Maiella National Park and its magnificent mountain peaks.
The town has many shops and a large market every Friday, which is full of local produce including cheeses and craftwork. There are even hot food stalls selling porchetta and chicken.
