Casas Brancas
This villa is part of an ensemble of three villas designed in conjunction with each other. We call it 'Casas Brancas', an homage to the 500-year-old village known for its picturesque streets and mainly white houses. Award-winning architect Marlene Uldschmidt from Ferragudo has created a unique design in which the views from the living spaces are fully enjoyed. Particular attention was paid to the facades, which were designed to be both modern and respectful of the surroundings: a white appearance with familiar colour accents of the entrances and a variation in size and placement of the windows. The open structure, the kitchen and living room are in open connection with each other, almost three-metre-high ceilings, large wall-high glass fronts and glazed patios give the villa an extraordinary experience of light and space.

Villa description
This villa with 3 bedrooms and 3 en-suite bathrooms is in the centre of 'Casas Brancas'. You enter the private garage with a remote-controlled door and a gate door opens into the patio which is in open communication with the more than 5m deep garage. Besides the car, it also offers space for storage and bicycles, for example. A glass door provides access to an entrance hall with guest toilet and the laundry room where the washing machine and dryer are placed. The patio covered with a hard-glass panel provides natural light in this entrance hall. A few steps lead to a hallway with access to two bedrooms with en suite bathrooms. Both bedrooms are adjacent to an open patio of about 3 m x 4 m where natural light comes in abundantly. The stairs lead further up to the living room with beautiful views towards the Arade river and the Monchique mountains. Another level up is the fully equipped open-plan kitchen with cooking island and the third bedroom with en-suite bathroom, located at the rear of the villa. The rear is oriented towards the southeast, where the sun shines all year round. Here is also the terrace, the swimming pool with counter-current installation and a modest garden. From the open kitchen, stairs lead to the sheltered roof terrace at the front with unparalleled views, a fantastic lounge area.

Special pool
Unlike the pools of the other two houses of ´Casas Brancas´, this pool measuring 4.5 m x 2.5 m is larger, has a counterflow system, is heated and has a roller cover. So this pool is suitable for sports enthusiasts who really want to swim. The size of the pool is specifically tailored to optimise the counterflow.

Patio
In the centre of the villa is a large glazed skylight of about 2 m x 3.5 m that brings daylight into the open kitchen, living room and entrance hall. To bring daylight into the lower two bedrooms, a large tiled open patio of about 3 m x 4 m has been created. This patio can be arranged and used as you see fit. Of course, a beautiful indoor garden can be created here, but also a valuable open-use space such as a spa with outdoor shower, a sports or yoga room, an outdoor cinema or a romantic outdoor bed for the balmy nights in the Algarve. Walking to the square and beaches

From the quay, you can walk to the river beach with the remarkable castle of St João do Arade and choose to walk on to Praia Grande with restaurants and beach clubs and the oceanfront beaches.

About Ferragudo
Ferragudo is a characteristic fishing village on the coast and at the mouth of the Rio Arade river. In an attractive mix, around three thousand Portuguese and 'foreigners' from all over the world live here. The village, built around the lively central square with cafés and restaurants, has all the amenities in miniature. Unlike the big tourist resorts, it is cosy here in winter and not too crowded in summer. Ferragudo has several beautiful beaches. In the immediate vicinity are the most beautiful golf courses and tennis parks. Across the river is the city of Portimão with all the amenities you could wish for, including a beautiful marina. A taxi boat sails several times a day from Ferragudo's quay to the old centre, the marina and Portimão's large beach.
