The area is beautifully situated at the foot of the Taurus Mountains and consists primarily of gorgeous hotels, good restaurants, green golf courses and kilometers of long beaches.
The resort town is almost built around golf courses, making the place a gem for discerning golf enthusiasts, there are as many as 17 18-hole courses here - and more to come! It is also not far from cultural experiences and sights. For those interested in culture, Belek is also quite close to the ancient Aspendos which boasts the best-preserved theater in the whole of Asia Minor, here they organize an opera and ballet festival yearly in June. The acoustics are amazing. Also of interest is ancient Perge, ca. 15 km east of Antalya. The city is dated back to about 1000 BC and today one can see extensive and impressive ruins of ia a theater, a stadium, Roman baths and a Greek center. The area around Antalya also offers many other archaeological finds and ruined cities, and in the Taurus Mountains behind are many scenic lookouts and beautiful waterfalls and small waterfalls.
