Description

The thing we have loved the most has actually been the location which is funny because we knew nothing about it when we moved here.

The street itself has a real communal feel with friendly neighbours, social groups and street parties. The park at one end is so lovely for little walks and has a great playground, and there are sports clubs for adults and children and regular events.

We've had the benefit of being in between two stations; Penge East with trains into Victoria or out to the countryside, and Sydenham with the Overground and trains to London Bridge and Clapham etc.

Sydenham itself has been such a surprise; as a couple we enjoyed the amazing restaurants, breweries and pubs and as a family we've loved the kids clubs, shows and all of the great green spaces around. Mayow Park has a lovely café and another playground, and Crystal Palace and Beckenham are both so close with more parks, restaurants and bars. We also have a car and finding parking outside the flat has never been a problem.

The flat has been as amazing as we hoped; we struggled to find a place with two good sized bedrooms, and so that plus the high ceilings make it feel particularly spacious. We've decorated just about all of it in the 5 years, intsalling a new bathroom, freshening up the kitchen and adding shutters to the front room, as well as less exciting jobs such as getting a new electric consumer unit and clearing out the basement to use as a big storage area. It has some really great features like the fireplace, huge windows and so much storage.

We knew we wanted some outside space and had originally looked for a private garden, but decided that a much bigger shared garden was better for us than a less usable patch, and we've been particularly fortunate to end up with what feels like a private space.

The view from the bedroom is lovely and not overlooked, the allotments are just beyond so we know it will stay quiet and private. It's also got access to Girton Road which means we can take the bikes out that way rather than through the flat, and we've got a little bike storage out there too. It gets really lovely sunshine for most of the day and has been great for setting up the paddling pool and having BBQ's! Sharing it with our friendly upstairs neighbours has never been a problem, even in lockdown.

We've got very special memories here and will miss the area and our neighbours, but we're looking to move a bit closer to family for childcare reasons. We really hope you will love the flat as much as we have.
