Description

The massive Cargo Hold approx 130’ by 25’ provides charming accommodation over 2 levels. The flow of calmness throughout really is amazing - as wel as designated cabins there are open plan areas that seamlessly offer different zones for relaxation and work. There’s an entrance room to the main part of this vessel at the bow that provides a pleasant area to welcome friends and family as well as a study.
The saloon approx 30’ x20’ is zoned into 2 areas. Windows are deliberately set so you can enjoy the unobstructed views of the River whilst seated. There’s a Minstrels Galley/Walkway that overlooked the lower floor. It leads to what is currently used as a textiles and design room. Then another Chill Zone approx 30’x20’ in total. The vessel still has the original roof opening panels so the intention was to create an indoor outdoor area for the chill Zone. Further aft are stairs to ground floor. The Master Suite is also on the top floor , approx 31’x20’ and comprises, sitting room area, dressing room area, en-suite and bedroom area - again benefitting from an incredible view from the bed. The ground floor can be approached via 2 staircases either side of the minstrels gallery. Ground floor is a captivating open plan entertaining area comprising of different zones very cleverly conceived. The areas comprise, lounge, dining area, stunning bar area and well equipped Galley. Further aft is a uniquely styled hall providing access to a utility room, a pantry room, a beautifully fitted bathroom , a cabin with living area and bedroom area and a further double bedroom . There is another double bedroom, a bathroom (not finished) , a lovely snugg /cinema room and a massive workshop with potential to creat more cabins. On the starboard side you can access the hull sides and on the port side the hull is a main attractive feature. So running cables, keeping an eye on the hull is well thought out. The flooring has been deliberately laid to allow for movement of the vessel when she’s on the mud or floating. To top it all there are Captains quarters - fully self-contained that are currently let out. This comprises of 2 bedrooms, bathroom, utility room, Lounge - Diner and stairs up to the wheelhouse, providing private access. There’s a rear deck too. This vessel has a fabulous mooring with far reaching views up and down the Medway Estuary.
She has a wonderful Mooring with Panoramic views (currently £1176/month. The self sufficient independent captains quarters are currently let for £845 per month. I have yet to photograph the refurbished Captains Quarters and wheelhouse as the tenant was in residence whilst I was listing this fantastic Dutch Barge, but will add more information as soon as possible. A Dutch Cargo vessel, originally would have run on steam engine - but Caterpillar installed circa 1970. She motored across to UK to deliver equipment for 2012 London Olympics. She was driven from Tilbury to her current location in 2017. Refitted 2017, All hull interior sides striped back, red oxided and sealed. Owner has regular blacked the exterior on the mud, and has kept on top of the decks. The raised deck aft of the wheelhouse would be next on to do list.

The vessel benefits from a walk in engine room that can be accessed either from lower floor or side deck. This vessel came to her current mooring powered by her Grunty Caterpillar engine. She also has a periscopic bow thruster. Much expense has gone into new wiring throughout with 12, 24 and 415v systems with battery charger and inverter. These are capable of utilising the addition of solar panels if desired. There is a door to another cabin aft that is currently a work room. There’s a new boiler that currently serves the captains quarters for heating but has the capability for the rest of the vessels cabins. She also has a large bank of lithium batteries, modern water pump. A galvanic isolator has been added.
