Description

Robin Hill is an 88-acre family amusement country park located in an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty (AONB) in Downend on the Isle of Wight. The park opened in 1971 and has been owned by the Dabell family since 1994. They have invested a significant amount of capital to bring it into its current condition but after a prolonged period of financial
turbulence following Covid and acerbated by the cost-of-living crisis and poor Spring and Summer weather have stretched the finances of Vectis Ventures, the Isle of Wight based holding company that controls and operates the leading attractions: Blackgang Chine and Robin Hill. The eventual sale of Robin Hill will strengthen the balance sheet of the group, allow borrowings (debt) to be repaid and to release funds for further
investment in Blackgang Chine. It is hoped that a new owner can be found for the much-loved Robin Hill attraction which has given millions of visitors great pleasure and memorable visits over many years.

As one of the main attractions on the Isle of Wight, Robin Hill incorporates a range of children’s play areas, activities, food outlets, ornamental gardens and woodland displays. The main rides include a 300-metre downhill toboggan run, 28-seat 4D motion cinema and ‘Ripple’ water pillow. The park also has a multitude of other outdoor activities including amphitheatre, play areas, activity courses, disc golf, wooden maze, falconry area and canopy skywalk.

The property has planning consent for development of holiday accommodation to include 19 tree houses, 23 lodges and 40 glamping tents. The planning consent was granted on 6 December 2017 and a material start has been made to implement it.
