The Holy Island of Lindisfarne is a historic and picturesque island with a charming village that has pubs and shops as well as many visitor attractions such as the ruined medieval Priory, founded by St Aidan and home of the world renowned Lindisfarne Gospels and the 16th century Castle. The island has a population of approximately 180 permanent residents and is a popular tourist destination. All the island's attractions are within an easy walk of the property. The island is accessed via a causeway with safe crossing dependent on the tides. The Holy Island road runs off the A1 which provides excellent access to the local, regional and national road network.
Berwick-upon-Tweed is a historic market town known for its fortified Elizabethan walls. The town is renowned for its architecture and The River Tweed. There are a wide range of independent retailers, cafes and restaurants. The town is well served by major supermarkets. There is also the new Berwick leisure centre with swimming pool, spa and gym which opened in 2022 and tennis courts, sailing and golf at nearby Goswick.
