In the village itself there is a day-care centre and a primary school, while secondary schools such as comprehensive or secondary modern schools are located in Zell or Traben-Trarbach. Both towns are 10.5 km away. There are also plenty of shopping facilities in Zell and Traben-Trarbach. Reil has a railway station with connections to Traben-Trarbach and Bullay. A medical centre and the nearest doctor's surgery are in Zell.
There are numerous leisure activities, from gliding to cycling, hiking, canoeing or relaxing in the Traben-Trarbach thermal baths. Bernkastel-Kues is just under 25 km away, Wittlich only about 20 km. You can reach Trier or Luxembourg in no time via the well-developed motorway network there.
The guest house is located near the Moselle and is therefore not flood-free.
