El Médano
El Médano is a charming fishing village in the south of Tenerife, originally a small fishermen's hamlet, which arose around its port and which still preserves a seductive native beauty. It is located 7 km away from the South Reina Sofia Airport and approx. 22 kilometers from the tourist center Costa Adeje.
It offers some of the best beaches on the island, water sports options like nowhere else, and easy hiking trails such as the Red Mountain. With a variety of restaurants, bars, coffee shops, and supermarkets, this town has everything close by. In the heart of the town, we find every Wednesday a market with organic products of Canarian origin, sold by farmers in the area. An excellent place to buy fruits and vegetables straight from the garden to your kitchen table.
It has two public schools and it is well connected with bus lines or taxi ranks, to travel anywhere on the island.
The coast of El Médano is frequently whipped by the wind, which makes it an area for practicing windsurfing, kitesurfing and even kite flying.
