The property is in a picturesque village about 20 minutes' drive east from the center of Chania as well as only 5 minutes from Marathi, which has a famous beach and beautiful taverns along the coast. It is an old manor house on the ground floor, which was completely restored in 1989 and several of its impressive original elements have been preserved and highlighted. The building is arranged over one level and needs some improvements but is in good condition and immediately habitable.

During the restoration, the layout that was common in old mansions was maintained, the main feature of which is a central corridor that starts from the entrance of the house and is connected directly to all the rooms. On the left and the right of the corridor we find in a row the old sitting room that can immediately become a bedroom, a large two-roomed dining area, the kitchen, two newly built bedrooms and a large bathroom. A second entrance on the side of the house leads directly to the kitchen, right next to which is the boiler room. The kitchen, the dining room and the living room can be integrated in the large dining area so that you have a total of up to 4 or even 5 bedrooms, if you renovate it. On many of the floors, the old cement tiles have been preserved while all the ceilings have a great height and the old wooden lining. The rooms in the old part of the house are impressively spacious, bright and have the luxury of their era. During the restoration, wooden doors and windows were installed, which were of excellent quality and remain in excellent condition. There is also a central heating system with radiators and an oil boiler as well as a solar panel.

The village has several permanent residents. Within a short walking distance from the residence we find a bakery, a pharmacy, well-equipped mini markets, cafes, restaurants and some shops. The nearby beaches of Marathi and Loutraki are mainly family-friendly, have facilities with umbrellas and sunbeds and are a popular destination during the summer months. In a radius of up to 15 minutes' drive there are many more beaches of Akrotiri. The property is definitely an excellent choice if you are looking for a luxury home, just outside the city and close to the sea.
