Description
May Cottage, formerly 2 cottages, in some parts dates back over 200 years, and boasts a delightful mix of old and new. The original thatched semi-detached cottage featuring exposed beams and a bread oven, while the extension has a tiled roof. The paved south facing front garden and attractive flower borders add to the cottage's charm, making it a warm and welcoming home.
Inside, the property features four bedrooms and family bathroom, with three reception rooms downstairs, which are currently arranged as the tearooms. The kitchen opens to the rear courtyard and there is also a shower room to the ground floor. The period features throughout the property add to the character and charm of this unique home.
The courtyard garden to the rear offers a tranquil space to relax and there is a single garage accessed from this area with a freezer and plumbing for a washing machine and freezer. Roadside parking is possible to the front of the garage, providing convenient access for vehicles.
Currently, part of the property is set up as a successful seasonal tearooms, which could continue if the new owner desired. Planning permission is awaiting approval for the property to return to residential use (as previously) which provides the flexibility to suit a variety of lifestyles.
Agents comments: It is considered that the dining room, as listed on the floor plan, could be sub divided to create a ground floor bedroom with existing shower room acting as an en suite subject to any Listed planning permission requirements.
As with many village properties, there is a right of way across the rear courtyard for the adjoining property, but we are advised that this access is very rarely used as they have an alternative access.
