Santo Estevão is a small parish in Benavente in the District of Santarém, more specifically in the region of Lezíria do Tejo. An area sought after by lovers of equestrian life and together with the passion for the countryside.
The Lusitano horse is the direct descendant of this Iberian horse, ancestor of all the horses that have been at the base of the equitation all over the world, from Europe to the North of Africa. This Iberian horse will have, according to everything today leads us to believe, travelled eastwards to the North of Africa and Asia Minor and from there to the China of the 1st Emperor.
The Lusitano horse is the direct descendant of this Iberian horse, the ancestor of all the horses which have been the basis of riding all over the world, from Europe to North Africa, Asia Minor, India and China.
Thanks to the isolation of this area of Europe, this extraordinary horse has survived and evolved here for some fifteen thousand years. And it is in this area that we find this fantastic farm.
