The doors and windows of the annexes are made of galvanized and painted steel and also have mosquito nets and gratings. All floors are in porcelain stoneware with a terracotta effect. Alanno has a population of 3,487 and has many amenities including a bank, post office, supermarket, butcher, baker, bars and restaurants. There is even a weekly market selling local fruit, vegetables, salamis and cheeses.
Further afield is the Nature Reserve of Alanno which is managed by the WWF. It is possible to stroll along the beautiful paths by the River Pescara and view the many species of migratory birds and the interesting river vegetation.
