It is one of the most beautiful and peculiar streets on the island, where we find flowered balconies and small shops owned by local artisans, making the walk a true leap into the past filled with colours and scents. In order to discover the uniqueness of this street, it is important to observe what is inside the small alleys and ancient arches: this is where beautiful inner courtyards kissed by the midday sun are hidden, where the residents take care of their plants and hang out their freshly washed sheets smelling of Marseille soap. One of these hidden and wonderful little courtyards, perhaps the largest, is the one that opens up before us when we arrive at house number 30. As we enter, we immediately notice the several houses that crown this esplanade, houses that over time have been bought, renovated and turned into second homes or lodgings. Over time, a friendly and convivial atmosphere has been created, where tourists can enjoy the tranquillity of Ortigian life, while being only a few steps away from Piazza Minerva and therefore from the Duomo. This location is definitely strategic and very romantic.
