The farmhouse “Il Paretaio” is surrounded by 15ha of private land, completely fenced, in which we find, on in front of the other, the antique country house and a recently restored barn. Since the beginning of the eleventh century the farmhouse belonged to the Congregation of the Monks of Vallombrosa, which enlarged their properties during the years until they owned the entire district of Paterno. Traces of their presence could be noticed in the oldest part of the house: in the olive oil storage room, in a large wood oven, in the room currently used as common room and in a small Madonna statue set in a recess.
