In the heart of the city of Siena, a few steps from Piazza del Campo is this elegant and refined apartment on the first floor of a building notified to the Superintendency which belonged to the Piccolomini family, a family residing throughout the Sienese territory which gave birth to many important characters including Pope Pius II who created Pienza during the Renaissance, the ideal city. Already from the entrance one may perceive the importance and grandeur of the building, such as comfortable stairs to reach the apartment in addition to an independent secondary service entrance that leads directly to the kitchen. It is spread over two wings, the right one that offers a breathtaking view of the valley to the East that offers the peace and sounds of the countryside. Here is the yellow living room leading to the master bedroom with original wooden parquet floors in Louis XV style and original furnishings, a Venetian damask coating on the walls. The bed is the one in which Napoleon's sister slept in a living room of a Lucchese villa, remembered by a graceful statue in marble, the room has a travertine floor and an ensuite bathroom with Victorian-style shower overlooking Provenzano. The atmosphere is unique and refined, the furnishings are mostly Sienese with the relative label of origin, of considerable interest a painted chest of the early 900, the black and white flag of Siena that refers to the origins of the city, the sideboard in the dining room from the 1500s, the cupboard at the entrance that keeps the shipping tag attached with the name and address of the recipient. Everything breathes history and art, a comfortable apartment, easy to live in, well thought out that allows one to dream and relive history.
