Job description

PLEASE NOTE THE SALARY WILL ACT AS A CONTRIUTION TO THE RENT, IT WILL NOT COVER THE RENT COMPLETELY.

Hours Working on a week on week off basis Monday - Friday 5pm - 7pm (Minimum time at chapels 5pm - 6.30pm) Saturday - 10am - 5pm (minimum time at chapels 9.30am- 1.00pm) Cover for the other caretaker 2 weeks of the year Salary £11.44 per hour (weekly time sheet to be completed). Holiday - 2 weeks per year

Duties Tasks required during duty periods Answering telephone and door. Conducting mourners on chapel visits. Showing doctors deceased for cremation forms. Cleaning all areas within the property. Keep external entrance to the chapel, car park and pathways outside the chapel and the two houses tidy, weed free, including the flower beds (water as necessary) and clearing leaves.

Cleaning A high standard of cleaning is expected to be maintained at all times.

Daily Duties Vacuum all carpets. Dust & clean all surfaces and polish where necessary. Clean all sinks and toilets. Sweep & vacuum all hard floors. Empty all bins. Check all dispensers. Wash floors as necessary. Carry out restocking.

Weekly duties Wash all the floors (floors may require more frequent washing during busy periods). Wipe down flower racks and all skirtings and architraves. Polish all stainless steel and brass.

Check all light bulbs Clear leaves in the carpark

Monthly duties Clean insides of windows Clean paintwork Wipe down mortuary and fridge room walls and fridge doors. Clean around corners of ceilings and light fittings.

Six monthly duties Strip the mortuary floor

Dress A smart appearance is to be maintained at all times, Jumpers, shirts and ties to be provided by the company, black trousers to be provided by the employee. All clothes to be laundered by the employee.
