The house is located in a beautiful neighborhood, just 5 minutes' drive outside the small town of Vamos. It is an old stone-built residence, of which the largest part of 195 m² has been completely renovated in 2002, while there are a 59 m² building that is not configured as well as a traditional "hayat" of 17 m² at the entrance of the property, which has been maintained with special care in order to be preserved in its original form. The residence is divided into a 166 m² main building that has two levels as well as a beautiful independent guest house of 29 m².

The buildings, in combination with high walls on the sides of the plot, form a central inner courtyard with excellent privacy, which is typical of traditional Cretan farmhouses. The "hayat", which is the first space we find, was used as a welcoming area of the house, where visitors used to park their transport animals. Very often, the housewives also used to knit here, so they could socialize with the people who were passing by the street right in front. In the "hayat" of this house there is also a traditional wood-burning stove, where even today you can bake your bread or food. The central courtyard is paved. It is divided into two terraces of unequal levels, has beautiful flower beds and a part is covered with grapevine. A circular external staircase leads to a paved rooftop terrace, which is ideal for sunbathing. From here the views are magnificent towards the White Mountains, up to the sea and over the village.

The village has many guesthouses, several permanent residents and a very active cultural club, which organizes events every year. It also has a mini market and a traditional café-restaurant. The small town of Vamos, which is about 5 minutes' drive, has a bank, schools, supermarkets and several shops. The area also has many taverns and traditional cafes, not only in Vamos but also scattered in the surrounding villages. Within 10 km radius are the excellent beaches of Almyrida, Kalives and Georgioupolis, which have facilities and nice sandy beach. The city and the airport of Chania are approximately 40 and 45 minutes' drive, respectively.
