Over a long but enjoyable day one of the six episodes of the Hellenic Home Hunting series was filmed featuring the area and Ms Helen Robinson a Greek Australian (with roots in Lesvos) who was looking to buy property in Lesvos.

You can see what was included in the filmed episode below:

She had contacted Hibiscus Ventures Ltd, UK early in 2012 via their Rightmove Overseas listings, even before the filming was agreed and scheduled. She had arranged with them to visit for a holiday and see what the area has to offer in terms not only of capital investment but quality of life, culture and tradition. On the day of filming she viewed three specific properties for sale in the villages of Polichnitos, Vrisa and Vatera, that matched her specifications with a budget of up to €250,000 – €260,000, aiming to choose one.

The island of Lesvos is visited by tourists from all over the word throughout the year for many varied reasons: history and culture, bird-watching and botany, folklore, tradition, local cuisine, long hours of sunshine, lovely beaches and the mild climate.

The attraction of the South of Lesvos is that it retains its traditional charm of “old” Greece, through a network of villages unspoiled by the ravages of “mass tourism”, with a preserved natural habitat of olive groves , pine forests and orchards, lovely beaches, the welcoming hospitality of the locals and more than friendly property prices.

The filmed episode was shown on Satellite TV (Antenna Channel) on the 25th of February 2013 Internationally (North America, Europe, Australia).
