One newspaper has suggested that people heading off to stay in property in Italy for a skiing holiday may want to try one of the country's less-known resorts.
According to the Guardian, La Thuile is a great alternative to Courmayer because it is a "peaceful place".
"Lift queues and crowded pistes are such a rarity that you'll often find yourself alone on a run," the publication noted, which could appeal to those planning to stay in property in Italy to escape the hustle and bustle of daily life.
Meanwhile, those jetting off on a skiing holiday may want to take the advice of one travel firm about what to pack.
Directski.com recommended taking a good pair of ski goggles or sunglasses, as well as sun block, in addition to warm clothing, extra pairs of socks and your own ski boots as these can greatly improve comfort on a trip.
A pack of cards to keep you amused in the evening is also a good idea, the organisation added.
