Reaching property in Spain could be less stressful by checking flights before travellingPeople with property in Spain may want to double check before flying to their holiday home, in order to avoid being affected by industrial action.

Mike Greenacre, managing director of Co-operative Travel, notes that some holidaymakers have already had their plans disrupted this year.

First time around, it was due to the Icelandic volcano Eyjafjallajokull and the ash cloud it emitted, which grounded many European flights.

Property in Spain remained among the easier to access, as Spanish airline Iberia scheduled additional relief flights to ferry passengers on to destinations across Europe.

It also chartered coaches to provide overground links for people unable to fly.

Now, however, the threat of industrial action could further impact on Spanish holiday plans.

"Those flying to Spain should check with their holiday company about travel arrangements," advises Mr Greenacre.

Doing so could be a relatively simple way to ensure that flights are still operational and to make it to Spanish property without any undue stress.
