A man who has travelled to every country in the world has listed his favourite destinations, with some of the top ones potentially being of interest to Italy property investors.

Gig Gwin listed Italy as the best single country he had been to for tourist attractions, naming Rome, the Coliseum, Venice, Pompeii and Florence as his favourites, the St Louis Examiner reports.

American Mr Gwin – who is a member of the Travellers’ Members Club for which membership requires visits to at least 100 countries – is one of just eight to have been to the 317 nations listed.

Mr Gwin’s conclusions about Italy and the rest of the globe have come after 40 years of travelling in which he has flown more than four million miles.

Earlier this week property firm Mondinion.com revealed that Italy property was the second most sought-after type of real estate by country according to hits on the site.

Founder of the site Zoltan Baranyai said Siciliana and Toscana are the most popular locations.
