The dark nights are drawing in and we are all starting to feel the chill, which got our International Team thinking, where would we like to move to for the winter?

If you are looking to escape to the sun look no further, Clockwork Removals have compiled a list of the top places to move this winter.

Barbados
Sandwiched between the warm calm of the Caribbean Sea and the rugged Atlantic Ocean, Barbados is one long haul holiday destination that never goes out of fashion with the British. Vast luxury villa complexes and multi million pound apartments line the beaches of the Barbadian west coast and Sandy Lane, Royal Westmoreland and St James offer some of the most exclusive property on the island.

Cyprus
Cyprus is the third largest island in the Mediterranean and although the sea may cool down over the European winter, the sun stays out and the temperature bobs around a refreshing 20 degrees.  With regular flights to the UK and a short flight time, Cyprus is a fantastic location close to home. Paphos is the most popular area for Brits to buy in Cyprus, it is a UNESCO World Heritage Site with lots of cultural attractions and a pretty harbour.

Dubai
Dubai is bouncing back after a significant downturn and for those after ultimate luxury and warm winter sun, Dubai is the place to go. Dubai is the 7th most visited city in the world and offers so much in the way of entertainment and culture and if you are after a second home for some winter sun, take your pick. The Burj Khalifa district is home to the world’s tallest building and is a full on lifestyle project with 30, 000 homes, 9 hotels and the stunning Burj Khalifa lake. The Dubai Marina is an artificial canal city lined with beautiful villas and apartments and the infamous Palm, is an artificial archipelago containing some of the world’s most luxurious homes.

Morocco
Morocco’s tourism industry is steadily growing and with only a three hour flight from the UK it is becoming increasingly popular with individuals after some yearlong sunshine. Rub shoulders with celebrities and head out to the Ourika Valley, count Mick Jagger and the Bransons as your neighbours and buy a Kasbah in this beautiful area within easy reach of the rugged Atlas Mountains and the bustle of the Medina of Marrakesh.

Canary Islands
The Canary Islands are situated on the outermost tip of Europe and include the islands of Tenerife, Fuerteventura and Gran Canaria.  The subtropical climate means almost year round sunshine and the stunning volcanic landscapes and close proximity to the UK make the Canary Islands a popular choice for emigrating Brits. Tenerife is the largest and most popular island offering vast real estate opportunities and for those after a bit of quiet, try Fuerteventura, one of the larger but less commercialised islands.

Western Australia
If you are happy to head further a field for winter sun, not many places can beat Western Australia. With a flight time of over 20 hours and some high property prices, it is not a cheap option but it is certainly worth it if you have the time and the budget. Australia was voted the “Best Country to Live in” in 2014 by the OECD Better Life Index and Western Australia has two of the top five best towns in Australia. Perth is the biggest city in Western Australia but the state is full of wonderful towns including; Broome to the north, Esperance to the south and the famous Margaret River not far from Perth.
