Explore the Cote d'Azur by train from a property in FranceAnyone who is heading off to the French Riviera may want to try travelling along the coastline by train, it has been suggested.

In an article for the Guardian, Kathryn Tomasetti explained that a day-long Riviera rail pass is an excellent way to discover the region from a property in France.

Costing just €12 (£10.57), she noted that there are 30 stations where visitors can stop off between Frejus and Ventimiglia on the Italian border.

One of the main reasons to make the excursion while staying in a property in France is the views from the carriage, Ms Tomasetti stated.

"From my window seat turquoise inlets alternate with isolated sandy coves as the seaside enclaves roll by," she commented.

Ms Tomasetti added that many of the stations on the line are only around 15 minutes walk apart, which means it is easy to stretch your legs on your journey should you wish.

Antibes, Monaco, Beaulieu sur Mer and Cannes – home to the famous film festival – are among the destinations that are accessible on this railway.

Indeed, with the Cannes Film Festival scheduled to begin on May 11th, visitors to the region may want to stop by to view the red carpet and even take in a screening of one of the movies.
