Semana Santa – or the Holy Week – is one of the most important events in the Spanish festival calendar and it could be a great time to visit property in Spain.
One city in particular that is very lively during the celebrations is Bilbao and a spokeswoman for the local tourism organisation – Bilbao Turismo – listed some of the spectacles visitors can look forward to.
Among them is the parade, in which "the brotherhood members exhibit one of the most important cultural and artistic treasures of Spain that can be seen on the streets".
The representative is referring to carvings and sculptures dating back to the 1500s and 1600s which depict various holy figures.

This year, Semana Santa will take place between April 15th and 24th, with plenty of activities happening around Bilbao in addition to the carnival procession.
