Men are increasingly deciding to whisk their partners away to romantic destinations when they want to propose, research has found.
Travelex, the foreign exchange provider, carried out a survey which revealed that 60 per cent would prefer to pop the question abroad.
And as Paris was cited as one of the most popular destinations for a proposal, more men may be looking for property in France to make the occasion special.
The French capital was chosen by 29 per cent of respondents, narrowly being beaten by New York – which was selected by 32 per cent of those questioned.
Peter Davis, from Travelex UK, commented: "Last-minute trips to romantic eurozone locations, such as Paris, are far better value for money compared with this time last year."
His observations could encourage more people to seek out a property in France to stay in, in order to make a romantic proposal.
