With the Easter holidays fast approaching – and an extra bank holiday due to the royal wedding – it seems many Brits are planning to escape to a property in Spain, with Tenerife among the top destinations.
Pia Louw, travel industry director at the Tenerife Tourism Corporation, explained that April is a good month to visit the island, as it has "inviting temperatures averaging 21 degrees" and plenty going on to keep travellers amused.
She pointed out that anyone staying in a property in Spain who wants to celebrate Easter will find there are numerous festivities taking place.
"There will be large religious ceremonies in Puerto de la Cruz and La Laguna, culinary fairs, a variety of music performances and special Easter activities for children such as egg painting at Loro Parque," Ms Louw revealed.
Figures published by Skyscanner earlier this week showed that searches for flights to Tenerife at Easter rose up the website's list by 21 places to second, compared to the same period last year.
