Spanish property investors have been urged to snap up the bargains available in the country.

Estate agency Titan Properties stated that distressed Spanish properties can offer buyers the chance to purchase a home in the sun for a greatly reduced price, nubricks.com reports.

Director of Titan Properties Andrew Benitz suggested that the Huelva province could be a good place to invest, as figures from the government show the price per square metre in the area increased by 1.7 per cent between 2007 and 2008.

"No one’s managed to knock Spain off the number one spot yet for a holiday home, so the advice is to act now," he said.

Mr Benitz stated that nobody can be sure how long the current climate will last but added: "The green shoots of growth are surely around the corner."

Meanwhile, Paul Simmons, the UK regional general manager for easyJet, said earlier this week that flights to "traditional" summer holiday destinations in Spain are in high demand.
