Private property in France throws its doors open this SeptemberAn annual event this September could provide a different kind of insight to people with an interest in property in France.

Those heading to Lille to view property in France‘s former European Capital of Culture are to be given the chance to peek behind closed doors at many politicians’ property in the city.

Part of the European Heritage Days initiative, the scheme takes place across the country once each year.

In 2010, it is scheduled for September 18th and 19th, on which days around 14,000 usually-private buildings are to be thrown open to the public.

Travellers hoping to get to Lille in time for the event might consider booking a place on the Eurostar.

Journeys depart from St Pancras International and arrive in Lille one hour and 20 minutes later.

Alternatively, around ten minutes can be knocked off of this time by travelling from Ebbsfleet International, a Kent-based Eurostar terminal located close to the Bluewater shopping centre.
